Eva Cai

Shengyi Cai (Eva) is a skilled Solicitor at our firm who focuses on commercial litigation and dispute resolution matters. With a strong background in handling complex cases in China, Eva brings a wealth of experience and a unique perspective to our team.

Eva obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Technology Sydney, where she achieved a Distinction average and earned High Distinctions in Contracts. Prior to this, she completed her Bachelor of Laws at China. Eva passed the National Judicial Examination in China in 2013 and has been a registered lawyer in China since 2014. Before joining our firm, Eva worked as a Senior Associate at Shanghai GuoCe Law Firm, where she acted as the annual legal counsel for a third-party responsible for handling most civil litigation cases of the Alibaba Group. She skilfully managed cases involving sales contract disputes, misleading conduct and consumer law penalties, copyright, trademark, and patent infringement. Eva also served as the annual legal counsel for PING AN INSURANCE (GROUP) COMPANY OF CHINA, LTD. (Shanghai subsidiary), handling cases related to personal injury and subrogation actions. In both roles, she demonstrated expertise in managing the entire case process, including drafting pleadings, attending courts, and negotiating settlements.

With her diverse legal background and experience in both Chinese and Australian jurisdictions, Eva is well-equipped to provide strategic advice and effective representation to our clients in commercial litigation matters. Her language proficiency in both English and Mandarin further enhances her ability to serve clients from various backgrounds.
