James Nelson

James Nelson graduated from the University of South Australia with a Bachelor of Laws Degree with Honours and was admitted to practice in 2013.

James is a Principal at JB Solicitors and is the head of the Property Law division of the firm. The division deals with a high volume of residential purchases and sales in NSW, QLD, VIC and WA, including both existing and off the plan properties.

He assists owner occupiers, buyers agents and investors, including transacting on high end properties valued in excess of $5 million.

James also specialises in Family Law and deceased estates and has worked across a range of Family Law matters involving children’s issues, complex property issues and matters with high net asset pools, and regularly appears in the Family Law and Federal Circuit Court.

He has previously acted in criminal law matters ranging from minor traffic offences to serious offences of violence, robberies and large scale drug trafficking operations. He has also been the instructing solicitor on a criminal matter that reached the High Court of Australia.

James is actively involved in the development of the law and legal profession and has previously been a member of the Council of the Law Society of South Australia and the Country Committee of the Law Society of South Australia.

He is a firm believer in access to justice and has previously acted for countless socially disadvantaged and vulnerable clients through grants from the Legal Services Commission of South Australia.
