It hears family law matters in NSW including divorce, parenting orders, property settlement and child support.
We give you a written fixed fee agreement before starting any family law matter. Costs vary with complexity, since a simple divorce application is very different from a contested property settlement, but you receive the costs agreement upfront so you know your commitment before work begins. Call 02 9723 8080 to talk through your situation.
Yes. Under the Succession Act 2006 (NSW), eligible persons, including spouses, de facto partners, children and in some cases grandchildren, can make a family provision claim if they were inadequately provided for. These claims are heard in the Supreme Court of NSW at Queens Square, minutes from our office. Applications generally need to be filed within 12 months of the date of death.
Both formalise property arrangements after separation, but they work differently. Consent orders are approved by the Federal Circuit and Family Court and carry the weight of a court order. A binding financial agreement is a private contract that does not require court approval and offers more flexibility, but both parties must get independent legal advice. Our CBD team can advise which option suits your circumstances.
Yes. The CBD office offers extended and after hours consultations for clients who work standard business hours. Phone and video consultations are also available if you cannot attend in person.
Yes. We provide legal services in English, Vietnamese and Mandarin Chinese, which many of our clients in Haymarket, Chinatown and the surrounding inner city suburbs rely on.
