On 5 February 2020, the team from JB Solicitors attended the 2020 Opening of Law Term Dinner held at the NSW Parliament House.
The President of the Law Society of New South Wales, Richard Harvey, has selected Foodbank NSW & ACT as his President’s Charity for 2020, aiming to promote awareness of Foodbank’s work as Australia’s largest food relief organisation, delivering emergency food and water to communities during the bushfire crisis of 2019/20.

Richard Harvey’s Presidential address was hilarious yet also extremely inspiring – we are certain that he will achieve his vision and serve not only the Law Society, but all of NSW’s legal profession well.
The team were also honoured to listen to the Opening of the Law Term address presented by The Honourable T F Bathurst AC, titled “Law as a reflection of the ‘modern conscience” of society”. Thomas Frederick Bathurst was appointed as Chief Justice of the New South Wales Supreme Court on 1 June 2011 and is the seventeenth Chief Justice of NSW.

JB Solicitors is thankful for the Law Society of New South Wales and it’s committee for organising such an incredible event. We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to have met fellow members of the profession, including Angelo Bilias (pictured) – a former Councillor of the Law Society and current member of the Professional Conduct Committee and the Licensing Committee of the Law Society of NSW.
