Jackson holds a double degree of a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Politics from the University of Otago and was admitted as a barrister and solicitor in the High Court of New Zealand in March 2023.
Jackson previously worked as a qualified criminal defence lawyer for approximately two years with the Public Defence Service and Tamaki Legal in Auckland and has recently returned to the legal profession after travelling briefly overseas.
Working predominantly in family law, Jackson provides a strong work ethic and high attention to detail when it comes to acting on every client’s individual needs. He is involved in a variety of family law matters, with a particular focus on parenting matters and relationship property division settlements and will continue to develop across further specialised areas.
Jackson’s extensive courtroom experience as a criminal litigator in District Courts across Auckland has allowed him to develop a strong proficiency in key areas of advocacy, negotiation, and client management in high-stakes environments. He continues to transfer his knowledge and skills to his new role at the firm and is currently undertaking law clerk work until his formal NSW admission is processed under the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition framework with New Zealand.
